Title: Print is Dead
Author(s): Higgins, Sarah
Abstract: "“I have no crystal ball and I am weary of those who have seen the future. I can only see the past and there are lessons there for all who can read and write.” - Manolis Savidis With rapid advancements in technology the processes that print designers and publishers use to produce printed matter has changed dramatically. Through research in the history of the printing process, and the shift from traditional production methods to the use of new media, I composed various images, each speaking directly to certain points in print history. Through this research I ask, as our relationship with digital media grows stronger will our need for print diminish? The submitted image is the last of the series and is a compilation of five previous images. In it you can see abstracted traces of film, digital storage, Latin type, binary code and color gamut. "
