Elsharkawy, Mohamed Study of Effects of Surface Wettability on Frosting and Droplet Manipulation The impact and subsequent freezing of water droplets on solid surfaces is a common mechanism for surface icing and frosting. We investigate this mechanism by decoupling it into two separate phenomena: 1) Impact of droplets on solid surfaces and 2) Freezing, and subsequent frosting, of surfaces under wet conditions. Our goal is to unravel the role that the underlying wettability plays for both of these phenomena. wettability,;superhydrophobicity,;droplet;impact,;icing,;frosting 2018-07-25
