This image is an architectural plan diagram of a museum. It embodies an attempt to synthesize a new graphic sensibility in architectural drawing. The plan combines elements of painterly abstraction, cartoon lines, controlled figural curves, layered textures, and reinterpretations of a historical archive of architectural precedents. This is my personal project that came out of a highly collaborative studio taught by Jimenez Lai and Jeffrey Kipnis, in which students developed a collective architectural language of affects derived from many sources. Drawing from what I learned in this studio, my research focuses on creating architecture that revels in its place in the conceptual world.
