"Nanotechnology is an exciting new technological breakthrough. Although it is still in its initial research stages, its potential is staggering. I have been researching the role nanoparticles can eventually play in the treatment of various types of cancer, and this particular image is an editorial poster geared towards the general public informing them of such research. This piece was created in tandem with my research on nanotechnology in medicine, and is an offshoot of an animation I created explaining this technology in action. As a Biomedical Visualization student, I strive to provide aesthetically pleasing and anatomically accurate depictions of various scientific and medical research. As an artist, depicting a micro-landscape, or “microscape”, I must make decisions on how to best visualize my topic. Taking some artistic license to properly illustrate this concept is vital. Here, I have chosen to compliment an existing animation with a “title poster” that summarizes its content."
