"My research project is about Parkinson’s disease, and creating an interactive Adobe Flash® module designed to help those newly diagnosed and their loved ones understand the disease. The module will feature 2d illustrations and animations as well as 3d animations. I am doing all of the content, artwork and programming myself. As Parkinson’s is rooted in neurological degeneration, this image was created primarily to be aesthetic in quality to enhance the information provided in the module.
This image was originally sketched out by hand, and then rendered in color in Adobe Photoshop®. Visual references were gathered throughout textbooks and the Internet to ensure the basic structure of the neuron was captured."
