"My image represents a protein called ubiquitin which is very essential in many biological processes. I analyze this protein to be able to gain an insight about its mechanical stability. In this image, the protein itself is in a water box and resisting to be pulled apart against constant force. The colored bubbles around the protein are water molecules. They are colored with respect to their electric charges. I always think of this picture as a small child traveling under the rainbow. At the end of the road, she is going to be an adult, which means her life is going to be pulled apart. At the beginning of the journey, the child (my protein) is very eager to see and feel the rainbow without knowing what is going to happen to it. This is the story of it, her, me, us!"
