"I am completing a Masters in Bioinformatics. I have been studying how the use of computers and programming can be used to analyze DNA and protein sequences. The image represents a DNA sequence for the P63 tumor gene. The tree represents the tree of life or rather the commonality of DNA in all living things on the planet. The picture of the tree is an original that I took of a tree in my front yard. The various colors of the tree represent the DNA diversity amongst species. All though my research is mainly academic, I have done several projects that have included the use of the National Center for Biotechnology Information website as a resource tool. I have also used many online sequence analysis tools as well as molecular structure tools."
