I am an artist, an educator, and a researcher, and I experience the meaning and practice of these forms of work in interconnected ways. This photograph is an image of the present moment in the evolving diagram of my emerging creative research into education. The diagram - drawn and redrawn in chalk on a wall of my office that has been painted in chalkboard paint - is an effort to consider and reconsider the intersections of the lines of inquiry that inform my work, and to notice the non-linear growth, motion, and connection. At the heart of my work is the subject of love. I wonder: how does the curriculum, or the ways we order experience, become a place where love carries out its wish for synthesis: to draw things close?
