Nursing faculty at Notre Dame of Maryland University and librarians at Loyola/Notre Dame Library have partnered to strengthen the caring science curriculum through the incorporation of information literacy instruction in the RN-to-BSN program. In this article, the authors explain how partnering to teach information literacy empowers students toward autonomy as they become active participants in the learning process. The authors’ reflections align with Hills and Watson’s (2011) three major elements of caring relationships–collaboration, power/empowerment, and participation–which are used as a framework to demonstrate this partnership.
