Article outlining the benefits of a design-centric approach to the Foundation curriculum. Included were case studies from UIC School of Design’s Foundation year. We suggest more emphasis on design-centric studies at the beginning of a design student’s career rather than exposure to the larger creative fields, resulting in strong designers better adapted to change.
