Investigating the Feasibility of Translating Free Medical Education Content in English to Spanish Using Bilingual Medical Students and Free Translation Software
The current investigation is the first phase of a potential multi-phase project. The long-term project seeks to broaden the reach of Library guides to students whose first language is Spanish. In this phase, data is being gathered to aid in understanding the feasibility and complexity of translating subject-specific Library guides to Spanish using free translation software and employing bilingual medical students. The project also hopes to learn what factors need to be addressed in translation work and to gather data to pursue full translation.
