Algebraic Hyperbolicity and Normal Bundles of Rational Curves

This thesis is based on my research on two different problems: the classification of splitting types of the normal bundle of rational normal curves in projective hypersurfaces, and the algebraic hyperbolicity of hypersurfaces in homogeneous varieties.
