The purpose of this study is to do a thematic analysis of blog posts and comments on the topic of domestic violence against South Asian immigrant women in the US, as evidenced in South Asian community blogs. What are the consequences of this recent way of communicating for these bloggers who have found a new space for sharing experiences of their own and/or other’s abuse? Guided by interdisciplinary theories of intersectionality and transtheoretical models of behavior change, this qualitative study seeks emerging thematic evidence to interpret blogs as possible social media channels of awareness-creation, contemplation of action, and as safe public spaces for voicing private stories.
