Broadcast Yourself: Redefining Black Beauty Via YouTube

This project investigates the ways in which Black Womanhood is articulated and rearticulated online. This was done through the examination of natural hair videos on YouTube and through participant observation of a natural hair conference event. Findings conclude that Black Women on this platform have used these videos as a way to challenge White normative beauty standards.
