While there is abundant evidence on dual task paradigms to be effective in older adults with mild cognitive impairment (OAwMCI), the effect of different types of training on balance recovery mechanisms (i.e., feedback (assessed via volitional balance control) and feedforward (assessed via reactive balance control)) has not been examined. In doing so, the results will provide a better understanding of to design of effective fall prevention paradigms for OAwMCI. Therefore, this thesis focuses on determining the effects of dual task paradigms on fall-associated balance control domains (volitional and reactive) in OAwMCI.
