Energy Analysis of a Topping Steam Turbine Driven Cogoneration System for a Prototype Hospital Building

The goal of this thesis is to analyze and improve the energy needs of an ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2004 prototype health care facility located in Chicago, IL, USA. In order to do that, a CHP system was introduced, with a steam turbine as prime mover. The software used to perform the simualations is eQUEST, the Quick Energy Simulation Tool.
