Unequal variations in healthcare resources across regions are an important area of research in health economics and health policy. This dissertation research focuses on assessing the geographic variations in healthcare resources and public policies and their effects on behaviors. By exploring the place effects on individuals’ behaviors in respect to the region-level policies and healthcare resources in Korea, this research aims to provide policy implications on closing the geographic gaps in healthcare resources and public policies and reducing spatial disparities and inequalities.
