Large volumes of diverse traffic in today's cellular network compete for scarce cellular bandwidth. Many mobile applications demand for bandwidth irrespective of their severity. As the in-network support for traffic prioritization is limited, it is very much necessary to develop a traffic management mechanism that can prioritize diverse traffic as well as utilizes the cellular bandwidth to maximum. This work investigates cellular networks and the process of resource allocation for TCP traffic of varying time-sensitivities. We propose two design procedures that can prioritize traffic while making maximum utilization of the cellular bandwidth.
