This thesis discloses the new platforms in heterobimetallic metal carbonyl catalyst design based on previously studied (NHC)M–[MCO] systems by modifying either the (NHC)M (M = Cu or Ni) or [M’CO/PR3] (M’ = Fe or W; PR3 = phosphine) fragments to drive innovative catalytic transformations.
