Two Dead Thrushes: Elegy for Birdsong is an ecolyric hybrid collection of poems and a central lyric essay that examines alienation, the ecocrisis, disaffection, homesickness, capitalism, intergenerational trauma, and the folly of American bootstrap culture. The collection illustrates how the constant overlapping of individual and collective losses inherent in contemporary life creates spectrality. Thrushes offers readers an elegiac space to engage in grief work, both in solitude and in an imagined community, within the liminal dwelling place of lyric.
