Dr. Monahan received her DNP in Executive Nursing Leadership, MSN in Nursing Administration, and Certificate in Teaching from UIC. She received her MBA from Northwestern University/Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Chicago, IL in Marketing and Organizational Behavior. Dr. Monahan is the Principal Investigator on grants totaling $60,000, and a Co-Investigator on grants totaling $2,550,000. She has served as the Interim Department Chair at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, the Nurse Administrator and Department Chair at Rockford University, and a Faculty member at Elmhurst University. In program creations she’s developed a Master in Nursing Administration Program with five associated courses, four courses for an Accelerated Bachelor of Nursing Program, and created six innovative interprofessional education programs for medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and psychology students. Her research focus is in interprofessional education and professional development.
