Rocio Bautista

Visiting Research Specialist (Occupational and workplace health and safety; Public health; Social work)

Rocio serves as research specialist and communications and outreach coordinator at UIC’s Center for Healthy Work. In her capacity, she facilitates research dissemination, designs job safety trainings, and contributes to various local projects aimed at advancing worker health and safety. As a social worker, her purpose lies in fostering community-centered initiatives, supporting the empowerment of individuals, and promoting radical and sustainable change.

Prior to this role, Rocio worked in immigrant and refugee services, early childhood and family programs, and infant cognitive development research. She holds a Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in Leadership and Social Change from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Psychological Services from the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University.
