Columns Dates: When changes were made to list of programs. Notes: Recorded notes on which programs were removed, added, etc. Tab Two Carnegie Classification-The basic classification for each institution Columns ID: Numerical identifier assigned to each institution. Name of the School: Name of Institution with nursing program. State: State where nursing program was located. Public/Private: If institution was public, private not for profit, or private for profit based on their status in Carnegie. Carnegie Classification: Basic category of institution from Carnegie Classification. There were a few institutions that were not included in the Carnegie Classification. DNP: If the institution did or did not have a DNP program. Y or N was used to indicate if this was the case. EdD: If the institution had a EdD program. Y was used to indicate if this was the case. PhD: If the institution did or did not have a nursing PhD program. Y or N was used to indicate if this was the case. Other:Indicated if there was a similar degree to a nursing doctoral degree. One example is a Doctor of Nursing Science. Website: Nursing program website. Tab Three HandbooksYesNo-If doctoral nursing programs were available or not available. Columns ID: Numerical identifier assigned to each institution. Name of the School: Name of Institution with nursing program. Consortium: If nursing program was offered in a consortium of institutions. DNP Program: If the nursing college/department had a DNP program, an X was placed in the column. PhD, DNS program, etc.: If the nursing college/department had a PhD program, a X was placed in the column. Handbook Available Y/N: If nursing program handbooks were on the nursing college/department website. DNP Handbook: If the handbook for the DNP program was available. Y, N, or N/A were put into the columns to indicate if the handbook was not available or it wasn't relevant. A question mark may have been used if the handbook appeared to be available but there were issues accessing the handbook due to firewalls, etc. PhD Handbook: If the handbook for the PhD and other similar programs were available. Y, N, or N/A were put into the columns to indicate if the handbook was not available or it wasn't relevant. A question mark may have been used if the handbook appeared to be available but there were issues accessing the handbook due to firewalls, etc. URL: Website where handbook(s) were found.
