DOI: [forthcoming] DATA & FILE OVERVIEW 1. File List: Google Analytics spreadsheet [EBM_Guide_Research_GA_Reports-and-Analysis-Data-07012019-12312019-Final.xlsx]– includes data from the EBM Guide and All UIC Guide for comparison. Springshare data [EBM_Guide_Research_SpringShare-Monthly-Data-2018-Final.xlsx] – EBM Guide monthly usage numbers for 2018 Qualtrics Survey Data spreadsheet [EBM_Guide_Research_QualtricsSurvey-Results-and-Analysis-Data-07012019-12312019-Final.xlsx] – aggregated and analyzed survey data. 2. Relationship between files, if important: Google Analytics data was used for analysis of EBM Guide use and user behavior. Qualtrics survey was used to measure the impact of the Guide on user learning experience and/or outcomes. Together the combined data sets provide a more robust assessment of the Guide through the use of data comparisons and crosswalks. SpringShare data was used as comparison with Google Analytics data. 3. Additional related data collected that was not included in the current data package: N/A 4. Are there multiple versions of the dataset? No A. If yes, name of file(s) that was updated: i. Why was the file updated? ii. When was the file updated? METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION 1. Description of methods used for collection/generation of data: Usage data was captured from Google Analytics (GA) for the EBM Guide, and for all UIC Guides, during the period of July 1 to December 31, 2019. Types of data collected included the total number of visits, user behavior (page visits, usage levels, device usage, average time on page, and how users locate pages), and location data (country, state, metropolitan area). Monthly usage data was also gathered from SpringShare, hosting platform for the EBM Guide, for 2018 only. User survey was gathered during the period of July 1 to December 31, 2019. The Qualtrics survey, linked to from each EBM Guide page, consisted of 16 multiple choice and open-ended questions. The survey questions asked about user’s education demographic information, user behavior, user learning outcomes in terms of knowledge and confidence, future intention of referral, and users’ perceptions, satisfaction levels, and recommendations. Questions related to user learning outcomes were developed based on the Project Outcome Model. 2. Methods for processing the data: Google Analytics analysis and reporting tools were used for user statistics and behavior analysis. Microsoft Excel was used to review and group ‘referring URLs. SPSS was used to analyze the survey data for descriptive statistics of frequencies, mean, and percentage. Microsoft Excel was used to review and categorize open-ended survey responses. 3. Instrument- or software-specific information needed to interpret the data: Google LLC. Google analytics [computer software]. https://analytics.google.com Microsoft Corporation. (2016). Excel 2016 [computer software]. https://www.microsoft.com IBM Corp. (Released 2019). IBM SPSS statistics for windows [computer software]. https://www.ibm.com/analytics/spss-statistics-software 4. Standards and calibration information, if appropriate: none 5. Environmental/experimental conditions: none 6. Describe any quality-assurance procedures performed on the data: Attention was given to the accuracy and consistency of the data by 1) reviewing GA data to detect and understand discrepancies (--usually linked to availability of metadata or clarification of GA definitions of terminology) and correcting discrepancies, and 2) running statistical analysis from survey data to ensure that we obtain the same results. 7. People involved with sample collection, processing, analysis and/or submission: The Principal Investigator and Co-Investigators listed above.
